Where we work
The MENA region is characterised by a wide diversity of peoples, languages and cultures. Home to 6 percent of the world's population, the region has less than 2 percent of the world's renewable water supply, making it one of the regions with the fewest water resources in the world.
Within the region, water availability varies greatly. The countries and territories that make up the MENA region can be divided into two groups: those that have low levels of renewable water resources and that have to rely on groundwater and desalination; and those that obtain much of their water from river systems shared with other countries.
WATER POrT activities primarily cover Egypt, Jordan, and Tunisia. The WATER POrT regional events bring together also representatives from other countries and organisations across the MENA Region
