Jovanka Ignjatovic is a water management engineer specialising in hydrology, water quality modelling and environmental management. She has over 25 years' experience in international and national programmes on various aspects of integrated water resources management in the Danube, Sava, Tisza and Drina river basins and the Drasviati Lake basin, including:

She also has extensive experience in issues related to the Water Framework Directive and has more than 10 years' experience related to the transposition, implementation and enforcement of the Floods Directive and other water-related directives and the EU environmental acquis; adaptation to climate change; and capacity-building challenges faced by water authorities in new EU member states, associated countries and neighbourhood countries. She also has more than 15 years' experience in technical and scientific fields relevant to and required for the implementation of the Water Framework Directive, the Floods Directive and other related directives.
