World Water Day 2015
Following a 1993 declaration by the United Nations General Assembly, World Water Day is celebrated each year on March 22. The aim is to draw attention to specific aspects of freshwater resources and to promote their sustainable management.
“It’s a day to celebrate water. It’s a day to make a difference for the members of the global population who suffer from water-related issues. It’s a day to prepare for how we manage water in the future.”
The focus in 2015 is on water and sustainable development – that is, on how water must be considered in connection with every aspect or our lives in order to create the future we want.
